Brown happy with opening night results at Knoxville!
(4/24/2005 Knoxville, IA) The Wise Guy's racing team with hot shoe driver Brian Brown kicked off the 410 season at Knoxville Raceway last night with a bang. The night started with an 8th place qualifying run with a time of 15.344 and a starting position of 5th in the 4th heat. The Gplay/HostIowa.net/Maxim Chassis/Weld Wheel #21 rocketed to the front and had the lead at the end of the first lap. Brown would not look back and went on to win the 4th heat giving him pole position for the "A" main.
At the drop of the green flag Brown battled with outside front row sitter Skip Jackson. Jackson took the lead but Brown regained it on lap 4. Brown would lose the lead back to Jackson on lap 7 and would eventually finish the night in 3rd. A very successful evening for the team based out of Sedalia, Mo as they continue to finish in the top 5 and top 10.
"We had a very fast car tonight." said Brown. "We made some adjustments for the feature and thought the track would hold longer but it didn't. I was too loose mid-way in the race to catch those guys. Tip of the hat to Wayne Johnson he is no doubt one we will have to contend with all season long. Tim, Gina and Terry gave me a top notch ride tonight and I am happy with our finish. Next week the WoO come to town and that should be fun. I'd love to get my first WoO win right here at Knoxville."
