Cameron Dodson Celebrates Mid American Sprint Series Championship at Season-Ending Banquet

Rookie sprint car driving sensation Cameron Dodson celebrated winning the Mid American Sprint Series Championship as well as the Rookie of the Year honors at the season-ending awards banquet held Saturday in Anderson, IN.

The Greenfield Central High School honor student was the first champion crowned for the new series celebrating its first year in competition.

"This is just pretty overwhelming," said Dodson as he took the stage to receive his award. "I couldn't do this without the support and sacrifice of a great many people. First there are my parents Tom and Cindy Dodson. They have supported my desire to be a professional racecar driver for most of my life and I wouldn't be here tonight if it wasn't for them.

"Troy Hollingsworth is the best crew chief a driver could ask for. He and I have developed a tremendous relationship that I value a great deal. He is more than just the guy who turns the wrenches. He is my coach, my guidance counselor and the one who kicks me in the seat if I need it.

"Ryan Langston is a tremendous asset to our team. He is Troy's right arm and always there for us."
