Danny "The Hammer" Martin Dominates Opening Night of Florida Sprint Car Speedweeks

TAMPA, FL - Danny "The Hammer" Martin, Jr. of Sarasota, FL, 2004 runner up in the United Sprint Car Series (www.uscsracing.com) dominated the main event at the 360 Winternationals beating World of Outlaws star Jason Sides and a slew of other competitors from as far away as Canada.

The event was the opening night of Florida Sprint Car Speedweeks. The 2005 race season is upon us. With snow and temperatures in the teens up North and temperatures in the 60's in the Tampa Bay Area, teams had fled the frigid North to kick off the 2005 season at Tampa's historic East Bay Raceway Park (www.eastbayracewaypark.com).

The win was the first of the season for the 18-year-old driver of the Martin Structures, Inc., Food Grade Transporters, Inc., www.eStateTrafficSchool.com, Schnee/ZRE.

Masterfully working around lapped traffic, Martin had packed his bags, turned in the key, and checked out on the field to the checkered flag. Martin started on the pole and never looked back.

Racing continues for Thursday, Friday and leading up to the 2005 King of the 360's Championship on Saturday night at East Bay Raceway Park.
