SYRACUSE, N.Y. - After a weekend off, the Empire Super Sprint (ESS) Tour 2000 is set to go full bore on Sat. and Sun., July 15 & 16 with the second visit to the Stateline and Eriez Speedways. The home of the Super Late Models will partner up against the winged warriors of ESS for an exciting weekend.

The 1/3rd mile Stateline oval showcased a bit of history back on May 27 as Byron, N.Y.'s Steve Dow collected his first ever ESS A-Main win. Dow bested Bob Podolak, who just pick up his first win of the year at Canandaigua, Rick Wilson and Rob Dietrick. After motor troubles up in Quebec, Wilson will make his return to the Tour at Stateline and Dietrick will be there in hopes to keep climbing up the point standings.

The next night will find the sprinters heading to Hammett, Pa., a suburb of Erie, to the Eriez Speedway. The long straits and tight corners always prove to be a challenge. On May 28, defending ESS champion Mike Woodring picked up his first win of the season. Woodring is currently atop the points with Lance Yonge within sight of the five-time champ. Dan Kaszubinski, Doug Emery and Mike Stelter followed Woodring in May. Those three drivers are currently in the top five in points and will be looking to close in on the leading Woodring.

It's a double-shot weekend of winged sprint car action. July 15 & 16 are the dates, Stateline and Eriez are the sites. The Empire Super Sprint Tour 2000 is back in action ready to throw some mud in your eye!!!
