by Dean Reynolds

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The long straits and high banked, tight corners of the Ransomville Speedway will be lone show for the Empire Super Sprint Tour 2000 for next weekend. Friday, July 21 is the date when the half-a-million-dollar tour will invade the beautiful Niagara Frontier.

After four years, the ESS super sprinters made their return to the Friesen family promoted half-mile with a big crowd on hand. Farmington, N.Y.'s Rob Dietrick won the exciting 20 lap A-main that went non-stop from green to checkered. Dietrick's #10 beat Scott Holcomb and Bobby Podolak for the event win. The Niagara Falls area has proven very successful for Dietrick as he also won this season at the nearby Merrittville Speedway.

Local favorite and five-time ESS champion Mike Woodring will lead the brigade of the winged warriors to Ransomville. Lance Yonge, Dan Kaszubinski, Mike Stelter and Doug Emery will also be in the field with hopes to move closer to Woodring in the season long point standings.

The event next Friday will mark the 17th visit by ESS. The winner of the 20 lap feature event will not just hold the checkered flag in victory lane, but will also take home over $1500 in cash and prizes. It's stop 21 of the 34 Tour 2000 and the best of "America's Race Cars" is ready to put on a show for you.

Ransomville...buckle up the kids as the Empire Super Sprints are ready to throw mud in your eye!!!
