Special Qualifiers Spice Up Empire Super Sprint Tour 2001 Schedule @by Dean Reynolds

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Two highlights on the Empire Super Sprint (ESS) Tour 2001 schedule are the Bully Hill Vineyards Sprint Fall Nationals on Sept. 8 and the ESS/URC Super Shootout held on Sat. Oct. 6 at the New York State Fairgrounds. Both events will see some of the best sprint car drivers from the Northeastern United States and Canada duke it out for thousands of dollars awaiting the victor.

ESS is proud to be a part of both events and several special qualifying events will be held throughout the Summer where ESS drivers can earn extra money or guaranteed starting berths.

The second annual ESS/URC Shootout at the Syracuse Mile will be a big part of Super DIRT Week where more than a half-a-million-dollars will be distributed over the five day event. The 20 mile, $5,000 to win, $35,000 contest will see the best from ESS and the United Racing Club (URC) battle it out for bragging rights to see who can carry their club's banner to victory lane.

Three qualifying events will be held where the winner of each event is awarded a starting berth in the event if he or she didn't qualify in the top 24 spots through time trials. The Syracuse Qualifiers are: Thurs. June 21 at the Can-Am Motorsports Park, Sat. June 30 at the Canandaigua Speedway and Fri. July 6 at the Black Rock Speedway.

The Bully Hill Sprint Nationals will enter it's third year with the 35 lap event paying a cool $3,000 to win from the over $21,000 purse. Four "Black Rock Bonu$" qualifying races have been set up for ESS where drivers can earn extra money and awards if he/she qualifies for the A-Main.

The Bully Hill Qualifiers are: Sat. May 12 at the Canandaigua Speedway, Wed. May 23 at the Fulton Speedway, Sat. June 16 at the Merrittville Speedway in Ontario, Canada and Sun. July 1 at the Cayuga County Fair Speedway.

The ESS Tour 2001 is promising to be the most exciting ever. With the Bully Hill Nationals and the ESS/URC Super Shootout, sprint fans are highlighting their calendars now. It's excitement guaranteed!!
