Empire Super Sprint Tour 2001 Heads Back to Stateline and Eriez This Weekend.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - For the second time in 2001, the traveling road show of the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) will visit the Saturday/Sunday, Stateline and Eriez Speedway circuit. The two tracks promoted by Fritz Seamens usually headline the super late models weekly. On July 14 & 15, the wings and wheelies of sprint car racing will invade adding a new flavor.

Back on Memorial Day weekend, Quebec native Alain Bergeron took the 20 lap A-Main event at Stateline for his second career ESS victory. Following Bergeron across the line were Dan Kaszubinski and Don Sharp Jr., all drivers have claimed victories at Stateline in the past and will be in the field this coming Saturday.

The Sunday show at Eriez back in May fell victim to the rain so a big crowd will be expected this Sunday night as it will be the only appearance of the sprinters to the Hammett, Pa. speedplant. Bill Coffey and Mike Woodring are the only two-time winners at Eriez and both top chauffeurs will be on hand to make it a three-peat. Woodring is currently leading the ESS season long point battle over Kaszubinski while Coffey has done a fine job rebounding after a 2000 season that was marred by an injury occurred at Autodrome Drummond.

The tracks that showcase divisions with roofs and fenders will have to share their turf with open wheeled, winged sprint cars. Stateline and Eriez....the ESS stars and cars are coming to your house. It's excitement guaranteed!!! <pre> Past Empire Super Sprint Winners at Stateline/Eriez Speedways.
