ESS: Utica-Rome to host three events

VERNON, NY- After a triumphant return to Utica-Rome Speedway in 2002, the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) will return for 3 special shows in 2003.

On Sunday, May 25th, the methanol burning sprints make their first visit of the season for a Memorial Day weekend special. Their second visit of the season to the fast half-mile is on Sunday, July 6th to close out the Independence Day weekend. Then to close out the regular season, the winged warriors return to the Utica-Rome Speedway on Sunday August 31st.

In their two visits in 2002, the ESS stars delighted the fans to two very competitive events. Dan Kaszubinski won his first Utica-Rome Speedway feature event on Labor Day weekend, while Doug Emery took the win in a non-stop event in the Super DIRT Week special. With the victory, Emery became the first driver to win an ESS event and a United Racing Club event in the same season.
