MOTHER NATURE WASHES OUT LINCOLN ACTION; Late afternoon thunderstorms dampen Rahmer’s record-tying bid ABBOTTSTOWN, PA, 6/13/98 - After morning showers gave way to sunny skies Saturday afternoon, June 13th, Lincoln Speedway officials thought they were going to get in the planned super sprint, thundercar and 4-cylinder pure stock show. But a late afternoon thunderstorm washed away all hopes of getting in the racing program, and in ther process, put on hold Fred Rahmer'’s attempt to tie Steve Smith’s 1978 record of nine straight victories at the Pigeon Hills oval. That means Rahmer will be looking to try to tie the 20 year old record next Saturday night, June 20th when the super sprint and thundercar regulars are back in action. Joining them will the 358 sprints as they compete in their fifth show of 1998. Gates will open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 7 p.m. and heats getting underway at 7:30 p.m. Don’t forget to check-out Lincoln Speedway On-line at http://www.lincolnspeedway.com for all the latest results, statistics and point standings.
