Finnish race car driver, Markus Niemela, is ready for his first full-health race after the freak BMX accident 10 weeks ago.
The Finn raced 3 sprint car races wearing a hard cast on his left wrist and posted very promising results including 2nd place finish in his last race at Ventura Speedway.
The 4 week break in VRA Sprint Car series worked out well for Niemela who spent most of his break in physical therapy and at the gym to be ready for remainder of the 2010 season. This saturday Niemela will be able to drive without a hard cast and will be wearing just an Allsport Dynamics carbon wrist brace for any unexpected impacts.
"I was able to get the most out of the summer break of the VRA series. I can't wait to get back on track without having to race only with one hand or in pain. Hopefully we can keep the momentum of the last race going where we barely missed the win with 4 laps to go after having lead the whole race. "
Niemela will spend only 3 days in the United States before returning to Finland to take part in Poroholma GP karting race in his hometown, Rauma, the following weekend.
