All-New ASCS Mid-South Region Schedule Announced
TULSA, Okla. (February 6, 2006) -- A new addition to the American Sprint Car Series in 2006, the schedule for the all-new ASCS Mid-South Region was announced today.
The Mid-South Region joins the ASCS fold in 2006 along with the Northern Plains Region and the ASCS Sprints on Dirt, joining the existing National Tour along with the Gulf South, Midwest, Rocky Mountain, Sooner and Southern Regions.
The current schedule for the ASCS Mid-South Region consists of eight events throughout Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi and Louisiana, with several more dates expected to be added in the coming weeks.
The inaugural ASCS Mid-South event is set to take place atop the I-30 Speedway's quarter-mile, clay oval in Little Rock, AR, on April 1.
Other tracks hosting the new region in 2006 include Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS), Poplar Bluff (MO) Speedway and West Plains (MO) Motor Speedway.
The Mid-South Region will also take on the Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores ASCS Gulf South Region for a pair of events on May 5 and 6 at 67 Texarkana Speedway and Fast Trax Speedway in Chatham, LA.
2006 ASCS Mid-South Region Schedule:
April 1 -- I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, AR)
April 15 -- Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, MS)
May 5 -- 67 Texarkana Speedway (Texarkana, AR) -- vs. Gulf South Region
May 6 -- Fast Trax Speedway (Chatham, LA) -- vs. Gulf South Region
August 19 -- Poplar Bluff Speedway (Poplar Bluff, MO)
September 3 -- Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, MS)
September 9 -- Poplar Bluff Speedway (Poplar Bluff, MO)
September 23 -- West Plains Motor Speedway (West Plains, MO)
Including ASCoT and the American Sprint Car Series Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt), the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 175 nights of racing in 2006.
