New Egypt, NJ (July 15) -- New Egypt Speedway management was forced to throw in the towel on Saturday's four division race card featuring the URC Sprint Cars, as rain deluged the area in the early morning hours and weather forecasters predicted much of the same for the rest of the day.
Saturday's cancellation is New Egypt's third complete rainout this year, a season that has been plagued with chronic inclement weather. Two of three appearances thus far by the URC Sprints have succumbed to weather. The popular traveling Sprint Car club will try again at New Egypt on August 12 and September 30.
