Spring Run, PA-From Friday night, August 31 to Labor Day Monday afternoon the Path Valley Speedway Park will present at least 31 feature events with everything from Vintage Cars to motorcycles on the smooth steep quarter mile clay track.

The 270 Sprints will race Friday night and then again Monday afternoon in a special Labor Day Weekend event that pays $450 to win. The Friday night regular program will also feature the Central PA Legends Cars and the three regular Friday stock car classes.

The sprints and Legends are off Saturday as the AMA-sanctioned motorcycles take over at Path Valley. The motorcycles and four-wheelers race in up to 19 classes for Region Six and national AMA points. They rip around the track in classes that range from the 4-6-year-old 55cc group to the over 40 senior class.

Sunday Path Valley hosts the season's third Junk Car Race for lowest budget racing in cars you could drive to the track. "The car count doubles with each race in the Junk Cars and we hope to have 50 or more Sunday," said Promoter Ken Geesey. Rules for the Junk Cars are on the track's website at www.pathvalley.com and experts estimate that it takes less than a day to build one.

The 600 Sprints also race next Monday along with the five regular Friday night divisions, and the 600 Sprint feature pays $400 to win. The Vintage Car Club and the Friday night V-8 Street Stocks, four-cylinder thunder cars, mini stocks and Legends all race Monday with gates open at 10 a.m. in a no-points holiday event.

So Friday is for local stock cars and sprints, Saturday for motorcycles, Sunday for Junk Cars and Monday features two classes of sprints, the Vintage cars, the Legends Cars and the three classes of stock cars.

The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown. It is five miles east from the Willow Hill Exit 14 of the PA Turnpike off Route 75.
