ASCS Patriots Return to Canandaigua Saturday

TULSA, Okla. (June 2, 2008) - If you were to ask Patriot drivers their favorite track, a number would say Canandaigua. Proximity, speed and racing surface are just some of those reasons why drivers like Chuck Hebing and George Suprick live for races at the "Land of Legends".

The Patriots make their only stop at their second-most frequented facility this Saturday to play host to the third full-point race of the 2008 season. This race will also be the first A-Main of the season for the A-Verdi Storage Containers King of Central New York Series.

Canandaigua is the home track for a number of competitors including Ray Preston, Blake and Bobby Breen, Mike Stelter, Bruce Dewick and Robbie Shuttleworth, but in the nine prior trips to the Ontario County Fairgrounds, two names have constantly found themselves at the front of the pack at the end of the night: Chuck Hebing and George Suprick.

Hebing won his first career sprint feature in 2003 in just his seventh race in a sprint car. The Ontario, NY driver ran at his home track in the modifieds weekly for nine years, capturing five wins. In just nine races in a sprint, "Cobra" is just one win away from equaling that total.

George Suprick also won his first Patriot A-Main at the track, which has seen average lap times surpass 122 mph. The 2004 Champion swept the races in 2005 and holds a special place in his heart for the track more than three hours from his house.

While Suprick and Hebing have won seven of the last eight races there, Jason Barney snapped their stranglehold on the facility for his first ASCS win. Barney, who finished just two points away from winning the King of CNY Title last year will try for that honor this time around.

The winner of the Saturday's 25-lap A-Main will pick up the $1,500 top prize, supported by Shuttleworth Asphalt Sealing and Mike Emhof Motorsprots. With a $3,500 purse waiting at the end of the year especially for the King of CNY Races and a point fund for the King of CNY Hard Charger presented by Walton's Farm and Auto Repair, there are a number of reasons why this race will have plenty of drivers flocking to Central New York. Riverside Bar and Grill of Gananoque, Ontario will also present the "Four Laps of Fame" Dash to scramble the center of the 22-car field. For more information, please visit www.ASCSpatriotsprints.com or www.ASCSracing.com.
