PLACERVILLE, CA (8-22-98) - After a one week hiatus to compete in the California Sprint Car Civil War Race Series, the Pacific Sprint division will return to Alan Padjen's Placerville Speedway this Saturday night for the 13th event of the 1998 "Thunder in the Foothills" championship season. The premier winged division will be joined by Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks and the colorful coupes of the Nor-Cal Dwarf Car Association in an evening that is known as "Kid's Night" at the El Dorado County Fairground. This annual event, one that is much anticipated by area children of all ages, will give youngsters the opportunity to experience the thrill of competition during organized bicycle races on the race track surface during intermission. The friendly competition will be divided into different age groups and the distance for each event will be adjusted accordingly. The top three finisher's in each age group will receive trophies and all of those who participate will receive ribbons. Additional festivities include free admission to the evening
