Preston Peebles II Experiences a Short-Lived ASCS Season Opener in Tulsa
Tulsa, Oklahoma - Texan driver Preston Peebles II attempted to begin his quest for the 2005 ASCS Sooner title this past weekend at Tulsa Speedway, only to have his race end before it really started.
On the initial green flag Peebles in his #11P bright orange Maxim quickly made progress jumping from his eleventh starting spot to battling for seventh place when a slight contact with another car brought his night to an end. "When I got back on the gas and started down the back straight the drive shaft broke and I knew our night was done. I think we had a top five car, maybe even better. At least its an easy fix and we'll be back next weekend to redeem ourselves at Cowtown." Commented Preston. Earlier in the night, Preston held off Danny Wood for a third place run in his heat race on unusual wet track conditions.
