ASCS Rebel Region Ready for Cochran Speedway

TULSA, Okla. (July 15, 2008) -- The American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region is ready for another Saturday night in Georgia with this weekend's stop a series' first at the slightly-banked, 3/8-mile Cochran Speedway dirt oval.

Atop the series championship points race, Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL, will try to break back into Rebel Region victory lane for the fifth time this season after letting one slip from his grasp on the last lap this past weekend.

Adams still holds a 66-point lead over 19-year-old Daytona Beach, FL, racer Matt Tiffany, with Bryn Gohn, 19-year-old Samantha Taylor and Red Stauffer rounding out the current top five in points.

Seven different drivers have reached ASCS Rebel Region victory lane thus far in 2008. While Adams leads the way with four victories, six other drivers have posted single wins including Bryn Gohn, Danny Martin, Jr., Michael Miller, Matt Tiffany, Don Young and Matt Linder.

Cochran Speedway is located in Cochran, GA, one mile north of SR 87 on SR 26, then 0.7 miles west on Jim Wimberly Road. For more information, contact the track at 478-934-4470.

The ASCS Rebel Region is currently slated for 17 nights of action at 15 different tracks throughout Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina and Mississippi in 2008.

The nation's most prominent Sprint Car sanctioning body with a dozen different Regions throughout the United States in addition to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, the American Sprint Car Series' (ASCS) 17th year of activity will include approximately 250 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout 28 different states and Canada.
