Dover Adds ASCS Rocky Mountain Win at Black Hills Speedway

RAPID CITY, S.D. (September 13, 2008) -- Nebraska's Jack Dover delivered a win with yet another American Sprint Car Series Regional Tour by racing to victory lane in Saturday night's 25-lap ASCS Rocky Mountain Region main event at Black Hills Speedway.

Crowned the 2008 ASCS Midwest Region champion less than one week earlier, the 18-year-old took command on the second round and never looked back en route to his eighth overall ASCS feature win of the season aboard the Eckley-powered 3D Auto Transport No. 53 Eagle.

Weathering a pair of red flags at the outset, Dover charged from sixth to take the lead away from Bob Schaeffer on the second lap. Dover then checked out to post his first career win in ASCS Rocky Mountain Region action, adding to previous 2008 wins in Gulf South, Midwest and Northern Plains Regional action as well as an O'Reilly ASCoT National triumph.

Dover took the checkered flag in front of Utah's Dustin Hall, with Brent Kronfuss and Kevin Ingle next across the stripe. Seventeen-year-old Derrik Ortega moved one stop closer to the series championship by advancing from 21st to round out the top five.

Jeremy McCune was sixth, with 22nd-starter Willy Hernandez, Danielle Ossenfort, 24th-starter D.J. Brink and 26th-starter Jake Ossenfort completing the top ten.

Chad Corken, Schaeffer, Dover and Matt Heinzerling topped heat race action, with Ortega winning the "B" Main.
