TULSA, Okla. (January 19, 2004) - The inaugural American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region Speedweek highlights the 2004 ASCS Rocky Mountain Region schedule, which was announced today.
The 2004 ASCS Rocky Mountain Region schedule currently consists of 21 dates at twelve different racetracks throughout Colorado, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and Kansas, with three additional dates likely to be added soon.
After kicking off the season with the first of three stops at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, SD, and making the first of two trips to Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, WY, the first ever ASCS Rocky Mountain Region Speedweek gets underway on May 29-30 at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Olathe, CO. From there, Speedweek moves on to Fairgrounds Speedway in Cortez, CO, on June 2, then wraps up with a two-day show at Aztec (NM) Speedway on June 4-5.
A June 25-26 double at Rocky Mountain National Speedway near Denver marks the second annual ASCS Rocky Mountain Region vs. NCRA challenge. ASCS Rocky Mountain Region shoes swept the top three finishing positions in the inaugural ASCS Rocky Mountain vs. NCRA challenge in 2003.
The ASCS Rocky Mountain Region will also join forces with the O'Reilly American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers for three stops in New Mexico over the July 4th holiday weekend, beginning at Albuquerque's Duke City Speedway on July 2 before a double at Hollywood Hills Speedway in San Felipe on July 3-4.
Other stops on the 2004 ASCS Rocky Mountain Region trail include Wyoming venues Gillette Thunder Speedway and Sheridan Speedway, a pair of stops at Thomas County Speedway in Colby, KS, and the two-night season finale on September 17-18 at Billings (MT) Motorsports Park.
