Haygood Sweet in ASCS Rocky Mountain Region Wyoming Run

ROCK SPRINGS, Wy. (August 21, 2004) -- Nick Haygood raced past Eric Miller on the ninth round en round en route to capturing his first American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region feature triumph of the season in Saturday night's main event at Sweetwater Speedway.

While Haygood led the feature field to the green flag from the pole position, it was front row outside starter Miller who gunned into the early lead.

Miller set the pace in the early rounds before Haygood chased him down, then raced to the checkered flag aboard Rick Lowery's USA Performance Engines No. 1 Maxim.

Current series point leader Keith Rauch moved closer to his first series title by chasing the 2001 champion across the line in second, with Jake Pierson taking the show position. Miller settled for fourth, with Jace Pennetta rounding out the top five.

Jeremy Sheaffer, John Jacob, Bryan Jamison, Willie Hernandez, Jr., and Mike Thigpen completed the top ten.
