TULSA, Okla. (August 17, 2003) - Several top O'Reilly American Sprint Car Series presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers contenders stepped into the spotlight during this past week of racing action throughout Southern Iowa.

Shane Stewart claimed the second annual Mr. Sprint Car title, accumulating the most points throughout the eight nights of racing at Knoxville Raceway and Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa.

Stewart kicked off the week by winning the Saturday night, August 9, 410-ci Sprint Car feature at Knoxville, then stormed from 20th to second in Sunday night's Brodix Tournament of Champions.

Shane then finished third in Monday night's Front Row Challenge at Oskaloosa, before running fourth in Wednesday's qualifying action at Knoxville Raceway.

Shane scored a convincing victory in Friday night's A Main Scramble, then wrapped up the week with a strong seventh place finish in the 43rd Annual Ford Dealers of Iowa Knoxville Nationals finale aboard the Wesmar-powered Visit Australia Maxim on Saturday night, August 16.

Shane and the Scott Chilcutt-owned team also earned Best Appearing Crew honors among the 100-plus entries for the Knoxville Nationals.

Currenty O'Reilly ASCS National Tour point leader Travis Rilat scored a big win during the week as well, topping Friday night's $10,000-to-win Kele World Challenge at Knoxville aboard the F&J Construction/Archer Motorsports/Haulmark Trailers Eagle.

After the opening weekend's 360 action, Zach Chappell stripped off his wings and drove the Carbone-powered Champco Concrete Construction Maxim to an impressive seventh place finish in Tuesday night's Non-Wing Ultimate Challenge at Oskaloosa, which featured 67 entries.

Rilat and Chappell both earned strong finishing positions in the week-long Mr. Sprint Car points chase as well.

Toby Brown also competed in Tuesday night's Non-Wing Ultimate Challenge aboard the Wesmar-powered ABF Truck Rebuilders J&J. Brown charged to second in the D Feature, then was racing through the C Feature field in the early laps when that event was cancelled.
