Blair Best in ASCS Southern Tour Finale at Adams Claims Crown

CONCORD, NC (November 4, 2006) -- Ohio's Ron Blair captured his first career American Sprint Car Series feature win by wiring the field in Saturday night's 25-lap season finale for the Heintz Performance ASCS Southern Tour in the World Short Track Championship at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

After a dominant heat race win on Friday night, Blair survived several cautions along the way to snare the feature win on Saturday night.

Blair was chased to the line by 2005 ASCS Patriot Sprint Group champion Bryan Howland, who made a last-lap move around Justin Collett to claim runner-up honors. Collett settled for the show position, with Jimmy Burns and Justin Barger rounding out the top five.

Mooresville, North Carolina's Coby Adams crossed the stripe eighth to capture the 2006 ASCS Southern Tour championship by a mere five- point margin over seventh-place finisher Johnny Bridges. Sixth-place runner Lance Moss finished third in points just 36 points off the championship pace.

Chris Shuttleworth claimed ninth in the ASCS Southern Tour season finale, with Shane Morgan completing the top ten.
