ASCS Sprints on Dirt Ready for Michigan Double

TULSA, Okla. (June 19, 2006) -- The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz has featured six different winners through the opening six events of the 2006 season. That streak will be on the line as the series is set for a Friday-Saturday doubleheader in Michigan.

Friday night, the series makes its first stop of the season at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, before moving on to Thunderbird Race Park in Muskegon on Saturday night.

Already getting a taste of ASCS Sprints on Dirt victory lane in 2006 have been aces Mike Brecht, Bryan Sebetto, Gregg Dalman, Ken Mackey and past SOD champions Dain Naida and Dustin Daggett.

With the flurry of different winners, nine-time Butler Motor Speedway champion Ken Mackey will seemingly enjoy a home track advantage when the weekend opener on Friday night. Mackey sits atop the points race by a mere 10 points over Naida.

Dalman is just four more points back in third, with defending series champion Tim Norman searching for his first win of the season despite being a close fourth in points. Just 38 points out of the lead, fifth-ranked Canadian Kyle Patrick is vying for his first win as well.

Also in the current top ten in ASCS Sprints on Dirt points are Joe Bares, Gary Fast, Kevin Atkins, Davey Brown and Daggett.

Friday's action at Butler Motor Speedway gets under way at 8:00 p.m., with Saturday's card at Thunderbird Race Park going green at 7:00 p.m.

Butler Motor Speedway is located in Quincy, MI, off I-69 Exit 16, then 5.1 miles east on Jonesville Road, then 3.5 miles north on Clarendon Road. For more information, contact the track at 517-542-3627.
