3rd Heat (8 laps) - 96 Todd Schmidt, 3x Bo Hartley, 00 Wayne Reutimann, Jr., 22 Doug Heveron, 9 Bill Pettijohn, 21 Jimmy Alvis (DNF - broken axle, crashed).

Mathis led laps 1-4 and Butler 5-25. Two yellow flags (S Butler crash front stwy and Heveron spin turn 1) and one red flag for Hall accident as he flipped into billboads in turn 3. Butler was in a class of his own, just lightning fast and he also won the Barfield Sweep worth $300.
