The United Racing Club kicked off their 50th season of racing this Sunday at Hagerstown (MD) Speedway. Hagerstown Speedway also celebrates their 50th season of motor racing this year.
Sean Michael led from the pole and never looked back. While the battle between second place finisher Fred Rahmer and third place finisher Rick Koenig closed on Michael late in the race due to traffic, Michael's lead was never challenged. Rahmer, who started sixth, passed Koening on the last lap to take second place.
Fourth place finisher Lance Dewease, was in battle with Fred Rahmer for most of the race for third place. With Sean Michael checking out with the lead, Koening, Rahmer and Dewease raced nose to tail for most of the race. Dewease fell out of contention for third when Koenig and Rahmer passed a backmarker while Dewease was help up.
Heats were 8 laps, six cars transfered to the feature.
