Red and Gray are Winning Colors

Columbus, MS - June 5, 2004 - Veteran Sprint Car Driver Terry Gray wins Round 14 of 50 of the United Sprint Car Series in the Wendy's Restaurants / Goodson Farms Sprinter on one of the top three dirt racing surfaces in the country at Columbus, Mississippi's Columbus Speedway. More importantly was the return to the bull ring of his severely injured buddy and tire man Don "Red" Taylor, who last year survived an off-track crash, but was hospitalized for weeks with serious injuries. It was the first time that Red and Gray had competed since the crash last year. Red and Gray are a perfect match, looked formidable, and still are in style.

Gray finished at least the last 5 laps without any brakes or brake pedal. A bolt fell out leaving him with no brakes. In victory lane, Gray blythly dismissed the absence of binders when he said, "I got the bolt holding the brake pedal right here in my hand, it was layin' in the floor board. It came out with about 5 or 6 laps to go . . . I didn't have any brakes at all.

Danny "The Hammer" Martin Jr. in the Martin Structures / eStateTrafficSchool.com 360 sprinter solidified his grip on second in the USCS Outlaw Thunder points with yet another top 5 finish. The Hammer continues his string of top tens and solidified his role as USCS Championship spoiler for veterans Terry Gray and Kenny Adams.
