VETERAN CAR OWNER, CREW CHIEF, AND ENTREPRENEUR JEFF McCALL JOINS O'REILLY USCS STAFF
FAYETTEVILLE, GA - Multi-talented veteran sprint car owner, crew chief, instructor and entrepreneur Jeff McCall from Cherryville, North Carolina has joined the O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series staff for the 2005 season. McCall will serve as the Competition Director for the 24-race O'Reilly USCS "Carolina Thunder" Tour winged sprint car series.
His race-day duties include being in charge of the pit area operations and technical procedures. Off-track, McCall has put his long time relationships and marketing skills to work for the series race teams and has already been responsible for securing several valuable contingency sponsorships.
McCall most recently headed up the Dave Blaney's Outlaw Driving Experience venture started in partnership with former World of Outlaw's Champion and Nextel Cup driver Dave Blaney six years ago.
McCall, who also formerly drove Monster Trucks, has past ties to the O'Reilly USCS as the car owner and crew chief for 1998 USCS "Rookie of the Year" driver Johnny Bridges also from Cherryville, NC. Bridges and McCall finished in third place in the National standings that season. Bridges and McCall also campaigned dirt Late Models in the Hav-A-Tampa and other Dirt Car series in the 1990s. McCall additionally crewed on Dale Blaney's World of Outlaws team during the 2001 and 2002 seasons.
"Jeff has so many talents, we are just ecstatic to have him join the O'Reilly USCS staff," O'Reilly USCS Founder and President Pete Walton said. "The experience he brings to the infield is really going to put us on solid ground. He has vast technical knowledge and great people skills. I also believe he is very capable of helping the young and less experienced drivers get to the next level. That kind of input is invaluable. Jeff's people skills will be valuable dealing with those situations that can arise when, in a competitive environment, everyone just doesn't see things the same way. I also believe Jeff will be completely fair in his dealings with all competitors. He is just a very, very capable individual."
The 2005 O'Reilly USCS Carolina Thunder Tour kicks off on Saturday, April 2 at Concord Motorsports Park located just South of Concord, NC on US 501. For more info on O'Reilly USCS visit www.uscsracing.com, or call the O'Reilly USCS at 770-313-3477.
