RealTime Acuras Strong at Portland

July 29, 2005 -- Portland, Ore. -- The first of two scheduled practice sessions today for Saturday's SCCA SPEED Touring Car Championship race at Portland International Raceway found the five RealTime Racing Acuras running within 1.1 seconds of each other.

"The RealTime crew is working hard to get the right setup on our cars," said team owner and lead driver, Peter Cunningham.

"This brings out the best in our crew's abilities because Pierre Kleinubing is carrying 250 pounds of REWARDS weight in his car, and my car is carrying 220 pounds. The other three cars are carrying none, so setup will vary from car-to-car."

Cunningham, Kleinubing and rookie Brandon Davis all race Acura TSX cars. Eric Curran and Nick Esayian are racing the Acura RSX model. Curran was fastest of the five teammates in the first practice with an 85.114mph lap.

Qualifying will be held Saturday at 1245p ET and the race begins at 400p ET.

The race will be televised on the SPEED channel Saturday at 600p ET with a rebroadcast Sunday at 700a ET.

Those near a computer can also follow the race's live timing & scoring feed on the internet by going to www.world-challenge.com Then follow the link to the Portland race event site, then click the link to the "live timing & scoring" page.

The RealTime Acura team is sponsored by the Acura Division of American Honda, A-SPEC, Red Line Oil, Eibach Springs, Memphis Car Audio, buyBrakes.com, BOSCH, Sparco, Hawk Performance, Brembo, SportCompactCar, Valley Graphix, Total Auto Body, PACT and A-YES.
