PWC penalizes half of Long Beach field

20 teams were affected by the penalties that ranged from fines to grid punishments and point deductions.

Pirelli World Challenge officials have handed out a plethora of penalties following the chaotic and caution-filled race at Long Beach. In all, 20 teams were punished, totalling $61,000 in fines alone.

Race winner Olivier Beretta was penalized for three infractions, two of which were called 'driving conduct' and the last being 'movement prior to the start.' The most severe penalties reached fines of $5,00, starting from the pit lane, and a deduction of 40 driver points.
