Utah: JCR Motorsports adds Putman to lineup

PUTMAN TO PILOT THE ...

PUTMAN TO PILOT THE #99 JCR MOTORSPORTS DODGE VIPER ACR-X at Miller Motorsports Park

Milwaukee, Wisconsin (September 28, 2010) - Jeff Courtney, owner of the #99 JCR Motorsports Dodge Viper ACR-X is excited to announce that Charlie Putman will be tearing up the track at Miller Motorsports Park this weekend in the 2010 Viper Cup Series with a double-header racing weekend. Just three weeks ago, Putman celebrated a Grand Am Continental Tires GS Championship with his teammate Charles Espenlaub at this very same track.

"I've known Charlie for a long time," said Courtney, "since my Panoz racing series days. He's a good friend and an excellent driver. And with his experience at this track, I wouldn't want anyone else driving the #99 this weekend. I expect Charlie to be a serious contender for the checkered flag this weekend."

"It is a real pleasure to get to drive this new Viper ACR-X," said Putman. "I had a few experiences with the World Challenge Viper last year and the brutal horsepower is just something that is always a thrill, no matter what cars you have driven or how many track laps you have under your belt. To get the chance to experience the ACR-X is something anyone would look forward to, and to do so on the Miller Track, which I love, is just icing on the cake. Jeff and I have co-driven together and raced against each other many times over the years; and we always have a good competitive time at the track. I'm glad that Jeff has finally taken the plunge into becoming a serious team owner and that I can be one of the first to run with his program. I know this race is going to be highly competitive and many of the drivers are already familiar with the new Viper ACR-X. I'm hoping that my knowledge of the Miller Track will help me be able to put up a great effort in the #99 Viper ACR-X for Jeff and the JCR Motorsports team."

Putman is an instructor at Miller Motorsports Park, there are few drivers in the country who know the track better, or have more track time there. The 4.5 mile track boasts 24 challenging turns and is widely considered by racing enthusiasts as one of the best facilities in North America.

"It's going to be a great racing weekend, and it will be a first for me," said Courtney, "to be at the track and watching my car without me in it. I'll be pulling for Charlie to put the #99 on the podium." This series, new for 2010, has already proven to be a crowd favorite and Dodge Viper fans will really be able to get their fix in this weekend with two Viper Cup Series races.
