Chevrolet is a long-time Stock Car partner in Brazil. Since its creation in 1979, the manufacturer puts its mark on the most prestigious racing series in the country. It began with the Opala (1979-1992), and then passed to the Omega (1993-1999), the Vectra (2000-2003), Astra (2004-2008), New Vectra (2009-2012) and the Sonic (2013-2015). Now, it has presented its new weapon to challenge for the title: the New Chevrolet Cruze.

The car has a more aggressive look and brings an identity of a car that has not even been launched in Brazil yet. "This shows the confidence Chevrolet has in Stock Cars", according to GM Marketing Director Samuel Russell. "It is part of a global strategy to promote the future generation of the Cruze worldwide. In Brazil, the option for the Brazilian V8 Stock Cars is due to the strong bond that we have with the series", he says.

Nowadays, Chevrolet have a strong competition with Peugeot inside the series. Nevertheless, statistics are in favor of the north-american based manufacturer: in 37 seasons, Chevrolet has achieved 31 driver’s titles. "Their confidence in our work is immense, and their level of cooperations just have proven it. They are long-term partners and their choice for showing a car that hasn’t been even launched in the country yet indicates the strength of our series inside the national market", highlights Mauricio Slaviero, Vicar General Director.

The new-looking car debuts this weekend at the second round of the season - the first double-header of the year at the calendar’s shortest circuit (2.278 km).
