2003 schedule announced

Isma releases 2003 schedule; plans for Florida series dropped.

Oswego, NY The International Supermodified Association has just released its 2003 schedule with some minor changes from 2002. The biggest news of course is the their new sponsorship of Lucas Oil for 2003. Also, the discusses plans for a possible trip to St. Augustine for a Florida series has not come to fruition as the owner has decided that he wishes to sell his speedway rather than rent it.

Two changes to the 17-race slate are with the opener, which will take place in 2003 at Star Speedway with a 75 lapper. The ISMA group will then return to Star for the traditional Classic 200 in September. The other change is the addition of another event at Sandusky Speedway in June. For the past few years, the only trip for ISMA to Sandusky has been Hy-Miler Nationals weekend in July, but in 2003, a June 14 75 lapper will be run in combination with a trip to Toledo Speedway, also in Ohio, on Friday, June 13.

The remainder of the 2003 schedule pretty much runs true to form from the past seasons with the exception that Cayuga Speedway will host only one event in 2003.

A general membership meeting for the ISMA members will be held Saturday, January 4,2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 6701 Buckley Road, North Syracuse, NY (exit 36 off the NYS Thruway intersection with Route 81). Dues are being collected now at $40.00 until December 31. They will increase to $50. in January. Save yourself $10 by getting them in now.
