And the new race winner’s streak continues in the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series.

In a race that was slowed just one time by caution when former series champion Rob Warnes and Randy Hoolingsworth got together, Robinson Jr. stayed out front to score his first career win and became the fourth different winner in as many races this season.

Robinson, who finished second in the season standings last year, was followed by Brad Stevenson, Rick Warnes, Duane Cinnamon and Mark Gordon. Finishing sixth through 10th were Connor James, Chris Burrows, Willow Barberstock, Craig Stevenson, and Randy Hollingsworth.

Chris Burrows and Mark Gordon won the qualifying heat races.

Brandon Watson continues to dominate APC Series with Canada Day win

A new race at a new track with the largest field of competitors of the season didn’t keep Brandon Watson from finding his way to Victory Lane again.

Matt Pritiko started from the pole after setting fast time in qualifying with a lap of 18.327 seconds to win the Bennett GM Pole Award over Watson, Andrew Gresel, Shae Gemmell and Jamie Cox.

After the pill draw, Gemmell started the 100-lap feature from the pole position with Cox alongside him leading the 28-car field.

After Ron Beauchamp Jr. brought out the third caution flag of the race on Lap 35, Watson took the lead on the restart and quickly built a comfortable lead.

Watson seemed to have the race in control and was pulling away until the final caution flag of the race was displayed on Lap 96 after Beauchamp spun out of Turn 2. Watson was able to hold off Gresel and Gemmell who battled one another for second with Gemmell making the pass for the runner-up spot on Lap 98.

Gresel finished third with Cox, and Pete Shepherd III rounding out the top five.
