Johan Fourie returned to the sharp end of SASCAR racing in at Port Elizabeth's Aldo Scribante circuit. The 22 year old won took one pole and both races in his MD Transport Ford. George Fouche produced another steady performance to take the championship lead, while Capetown winner Jonathan du Toit was absent, writing exams.

In race 1 at the tight 1.5 mile circuit which interestingly enough features one of the longest straights in South African motorsport, Fourie was almost untouchable. Only Joubert came close, and he fell off the track battling with Fourie. Fouche, Peter Lindenberg, Grant van Schalkwyk, Johan Coetzee, JJ Maree and Kosie Swanepoel fought it out for 2nd place.

On lap 9 van Schalkwyk outbraked himself trying to take 3rd from Lindenberg, then on the next lap Maree managed to take the place. Lindenberg finished 4th, followed by Swanepoel and Joubert, recovering from spinning out while battling for the lead at the start.

Deon Joubert took pole for the second race, and he and Fourie fought it out for 3 laps before Fourie took the lead. Joubert eventually retired with engine failure on lap 12. JJ Maree inherited 2nd place from Joubert, being chased by Grant van Schalkwyk and Johan Coetzee. Coetzee, who had retired in race 1, was subsequently penalized 10 seconds for a white line incident, handing 4th place to series leader George Fouche.

The SASCAR round will see the inaugaration of the new Zwartkops circuit near Pretoria.
