Carmel, Ind.: Dec. 10, 1999-Conseco, Inc. (NYSE:CNC) announced today that it will sponsor Russ Tuttle's American Speed Association (ASA) racing team for the full 2000 ACDelco Series season. The announcement extends the relationship that has existed between Tuttle and Conseco since 1995.

Tuttle, 40, began racing in the National Legends Car Series in 1996. He finished the season as B.F. Goodrich Regional Champion Runner-Up and Rookie of the Year. In 1997, Tuttle moved to the Pro Division, where he finished in the top 15 in points despite running a limited schedule. In 1998, Tuttle made the jump to ASA, where he competed in four events and, in 1999, ran for Rookie of the Year honors, recording four top-10 finishes.

"I'm very proud to be a part of the Conseco motorsports family," said Tuttle. "Having Conseco as my primary sponsor is a dream come true. With Conseco's support, this team will truly be a force to reckon with in the ASA."

When not racing, Tuttle is preventing crime in Indianapolis, Ind., where he lives with his wife and three children. In addition to serving as Deputy Chief of Investigations for the Marion County Sheriff's Department, he is the director of the Police Athletic League (P.A.L.), which works to improve relations between the deputies and youth of Marion County. He also owns and operates Goldstar Protection Services, Inc., a company which specializes in the security and protection of celebrities and their families.

"I have no doubt that the No. 16 car will have some excellent finishes next year", said Stewart Stockdale, Conseco executive vice president of marketing and strategic planning, we're excited to give him our support."

Since its humble beginnings in 1968, ASA has built a dedicated, grassroots audience by allowing stock car fans to get closer to the action. Defined by its focus on competitor safety, competitive racing and spectator enjoyment, ASA has served as the proving ground for some of the most talented drivers, crew members and car owners in motorsports.
