Salem, IN (August 14, 2003) -- This Saturday's GMAC Financial Services 100 Presented By GM Visa Card will be the tenth event for the Sunoco Super Series at Indianapolis Raceway Park, which it has raced at every season since it's beginning in 1997. Former two time Series Champion Brian Ross has claimed four victories at IRP to lead all series competitors. Ross now competes full-time with the Hooters Pro Cup Series. On Saturday, Junior Hanley, second on the all-time series IRP victory list with three wins, will have a chance to tie Ross for victories at the .686 mile oval, the largest track the Sunoco Super Series will race on in 2003. Hanley is the current series point's leader with one victory at Winchester Speedway in June.

Last season Hanley claimed the win in this traditional UAW Family Night event. Hanley took the early lead and looked like he would cruise to victory, but charging Indianapolis native Chet Fillip made the "slide job" pass for the lead on lap 17. Fillip and Hanley put on one of the best all time series battles for the rest of the event, battling several laps side by side before Hanley was able to re-pass Fillip for the lead on lap 75. Fillip never gave up the chase, but had to settle for second.

Hanley and the Sunoco Super Series regulars will have some stiff competition with a great group of entries for the GMAC Financial Services 100 Presented By GM Visa Card. Three of the top drivers with the NASCAR International Truck & Engine Midwest Series will be on hand. Eddie Hoffman, currently second in ITEMS points and three victories and winner of the Sunoco Super Series event at Baer Field Speedway on August 7th, will make his first ever start at IRP. Ron Breese Jr., currently third in ITEMS points and two victories will make his first ever start at IRP. Breese has competed with the Sunoco Super Series several times over the past two years, picking up his first series victory last year in September at Anderson Speedway. Brian Hoppe, currently fourth in ITEMS points and two victories will also make his first ever start at IRP and his first start with the Sunoco Super Series. Hoppe recently won an ITEMS race at Gateway International Speedway, it was his third victory at the 1.25-mile facility.

Legendary Southeast Late Model racer Dave Mader III will make his first ever start with the Sunoco Super Series this Saturday at IRP. Mader will make the long haul from his home in Mooresville, North Carolina. Mader competes occasionally with the O'Reilly Southern All Stars, he finished second at the series event last Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama.

Carney is able to run with the series at IRP because he races there in the CARS Late Model Series on a regular basis were he is currently third in points with three victories. Carney will be driving a second Andy Ponstein car with sponsorship from series rookie program sponsor Hubler Automotive Group. Louisville, Kentucky Doctor Jeff Berg as entered.
