Northampton, PA. . . . .NASCAR Modified driver, Eric Beers and the Kocher Motorsports, JMC INVESTMENTS, SHIR RAY INN, HORWITH FREIGHTLINER, WYNN'S OIL-K-CEE DISTRIBUTING, BROWN DAUB NASCAR MODIFIED #12 headed to Oswego Speedway on August 5th for the Sunoco Race of Champions New York State Series 50 Lap Race. Forty-one Modifieds filled the pits for the special event. Four heats were ran with Eric finishing 4th in the second heat. The top three in each heat redrew for starting position relegating Eric to a 14th starting position. Once the race started Eric went to the outside and was quickly up to the 8th position. A couple of spins in front of the #12 JMC Investment Modified got Eric up to the 4th spot. On a late race restart Eric made a couple of moves to move forward even further until grabbing the lead position. Eric had to hold off veterans George Kent and Sege Fidenza to capture his first win ever at Oswego Speedway (incidentally this was the first time Eric ever saw Oswego Speedway). The team is looking forward to returning to Oswego Speedway in October for the running of the Race of Champions. In addition to Eric Beers winning his 10th Asphalt Modified Race of the 2000 season, Beers Motorsports Street Stock Driver, Jason Beers won his Street Stock event on Saturday night at Mahoning Valley Speedway.
