FULTON, NY.The 2001 race season at Fulton Speedway is set to begin on Saturday, April 21. In race competition during the season opener at the home of the Victoria 200 will be the DIRT 358 Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks. All four divisions will compete weekly once again at the DIRT Motorsports sanctioned track.

Alan Johnson claimed the win in the 2000 season opener and Johnson carried that win to the 2000 Fulton Speedway DIRT 358 Modified Track Championship. Jimmy Phelps, the 1999 Fulton Speedway DIRT 358 Modified Track Champion, had to settle for a second place finish in the 2000 opener. Phelps finished the 2000 point chase in second, behind Johnson.

Several other top DIRT 358 Modified drivers will look to start off the 2001 race season with a good outing on April 21. Last season both Johnson and Phelps proved that was the way to success along with J.J. Michaels and John Barker. Michaels finished the 2000 opener in third and Barker fifth. And both drivers finished the season long standings in the same positions.

Completing the four division opening night program at Fulton Speedway will be the DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks. All three divisions always provide plenty of excitement on the high banked track. And the drivers in all three divisions will be looking to a good start to the new season in the year long point battle.
