Gateway Mark Dismore preview

SUSSEX, Wis. - Mark Dismore is set to conclude his rookie season in the ASA Series this weekend at the Gateway International Raceway just outside of St. Louis, Mo. Dismore, driver of the No. 44 Monster.com/WorldBestBuy.com Chevrolet, is confident he can make his final 2000 run a memorable one and end the season on a high note.

A collection of practice times gathered by numerous teams has Dismore sitting atop the leader board at the 1.25-mile oval track. "I was real comfortable with the track," Dismore said. "It's always good to have some testing time on a track we're going to visit. We seem to race well at the tracks we've tested on before, so we should have a good race."

While he has captured two top-10 finishes this year, bad luck has mired Dismore's rookie season. "This hasn't been the best of seasons for the Herzog Motorsports team or myself," continues Dismore. "We just can't seem to buy any luck and be able to finish where we should. I hope to finish off the season on a good note for everyone on the Herzog Motorsports team and at Monster.com."

Dismore's best runs this season have been at tracks larger than a half-mile, which excites the No. 44 team heading to the largest track on the schedule. "Mark was running really well when we tested there," said Howie Lettow, crew chief. "His times are faster than some of the others that have tested there, so we're looking forward to running up front and the possibility of winning this race."

TNN Sports will televise the ASA Series' finale live from the Gateway International Raceway. The BFGoodrich Tires 200 is set to begin at 9:00 p.m. EST.
