Former Skip Barber Formula Series driver, Chris Fowler, stepping up to full fendered cars in 2005 with a partial ASA Late Model Schedule.

After several seasons spent in various open wheeled forms of motorsports, Jacksonville, Florida driver, Chris Fowler will step up into the full fendered at least part time during the 2005 season as the 2001 North Florida Kart Champion will run a partial schedule with the ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts.

For the 2005 season, Fowler will be in a Wood Brothers Racing owned machine sponsored by the Chiron Corporation, which specializes as a multi-dimensional company with businesses in biopharmaceuticals, vaccines and blood testing. For more than 20 years, Chiron has been an industry leader, making groundbreaking scientific discoveries and creating revolutionary products that are improving human health worldwide.

Fowler, 29, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) when he was six months old. Chiron Corp., biopharmaceuticals produces TOBI tobramycin solution for inhalation, which Fowler has used since the age of 23. TOBI is an inhaled antibiotic indicated for the management of CF patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a type of bacteria frequently found in the lungs of a person with CF. "It's like having bronchitis every day of your life." Chris said in an earlier interview done with First Coast News. Chris takes 20 medications a day along with vitamins and uses a special device to shake the mucus in his lungs.

Fowler's previous driving experience also includes 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place finishes in the 2002-03 Skip Barber Formula Dodge Southern Series. After graduating college with a degree in Computer Networking, and with the help of Chuck McCue and Arsenal Racing, Chris bought a Hammer Works Kart with an HPV engine and became the 2001 North Florida Kart Club Champion. He then spent 8 days in Sebring (FL) at the 3-day Skip Barber Racing School. After the school, he raced in the final 2 races for the 2001 Skip Barber Formula Dodge Regional Championship. In 2004 he attempted to run one ASA National tour event at Madison WI. In 2005 he also plans on competing in some NASCAR Craftsman Truck series events when sponsorship is secured.
