Mark Dismore Hawkeye Downs preview

SUSSEX, Wis. - Mark Dismore is hoping the sun shines brightly on him, as well as the Hawkeye Downs Speedway, as he returns to the track for the Iowa 250. The past two races for the ASA ACDelco Series have been plagued by unpleasant weather conditions, while Dismore has had a few races full of misfortune. The series returns to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the second time this year and is the only track to have the distinction as a multi-race host.

"It's great to return to a track where I have raced already," Dismore said. "We practiced and qualified really well there in June. Unfortunately, the Monster.com/WorldBestBuy.com Chevrolet blew a tire early in the race, but we've got that situation straightened out. We'll be a real contender this time." In the event held earlier this year at Hawkeye Downs, Dismore qualified tenth and finished 24th.

"After last week and the mistake I made being aggressive too early, this team really needs a good run," Dismore states. "I feel we can finish up front, if we can just stay out of trouble and I can remain focused."

Dismore is currently tied for 16th in the ASA National Points Standings and remains fourth in the Pat Schauer Memorial Rookie of the Year battle.
