USAC Stoops Freightliner wingless sprints made their first appearance in 11 years Friday night at Toledo Speedway. A field of 26-cars were on hand for the race which was televised the following night on ESPN2. Dave Darland led the entire 30-lap distance to take the win and it also netted the Kokomo, Ind. driver a test drive in a Ron Hemelgarn IRL car.

The local divisions were also on the race card with Ron Allen winning yet another Sportsman Feature. Allen took the lead on lap 15 and held on for his fifth win in as many starts. Brian Norton was second with early leader Carl Bumgardner finishing third.

The Factory stocks put on their usual thrilling race. Paul Duffin took the checkered flag, his second feature of the year.
