JOHNNY RUMLEY TO DRIVE THE NO. 80N CHAMPION CHEVY FOR JR MOTORSPORTS

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 11, 2006) - JR Motorsports announced today that Johnny Rumley will drive the No. 80N Champion Chevrolet for JR Motorsports in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series Championship events.

The 49-year-old Summerfield, N.C., native spent the 2006 season racing in the Pro Cup Northern Division in the No. 8N Chevrolet, where he finished seventh in the regular season points battle. During the past nine years he has competed in 88 Pro Cup races and earned two wins, 21 top-five and 47 top-10 finishes. Prior to joining the Pro Cup Series, Rumley ran 51 NASCAR Busch Series races, scoring two wins, one pole award and eight top-10 finishes.

"When we moved Shane (Huffman) into the Busch Series, we needed someone to take over the Champion Chevy in the Pro Cup Series for the championship races," said team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. "That series is pretty competitive and we wanted to give the folks at Champion someone just as intense and focused as Shane. Johnny was our obvious choice. He's a veteran in the series and with his help we plan on making a run at the national title."

The six-race USAR Hooters Pro Cup Championship Series kicks off this Friday with the Soy Biodiesel 250 at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
