Greg Van Alst Looks To Mansfield For Success

Anderson, Indiana - - As the 2004 United Speed Alliance Racing season quietly draws to a close, driver and owner Greg Van Alst plans to make the best of it.

The former ARCA RE/MAX Series driver has battled his limited schedule season with little financing. However, that hasn't kept the No. 35 Van Alst Motorsports team from giving their all in the events.

A couple of top-twenty finishes this season have the Indiana based team itching for more. While the team knows they are under funded, they continue to head to the track, looking for a top ten and to impress.

"I've almost spent everything I have," said the driver Greg Van Alst. "We're struggling to get to the track, but once we get their, that's all out the window, we all have a job to do and try to make the best of it."

The USAR tour rolls into Mansfield, Ohio this weekend for the running of the Pepsi 250 at MMS (Mansfield Motor Speedway). "I've never raced at Mansfield, but I've heard it's a beautiful track. I would love to unload fast, and run as close to the front as possible, and collect a solid finish for my team," he continued.

Greg, will pilot the No. 35 Sponsor Needed/GregVanAlst.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo this weekend. The team has done some body work, and painting to their machine eyeing success this weekend. The team is still looking for primary sponsorship for the event.

In addition to running this weekend's event, Van Alst will be eligible to run for the five final USAR championship events. The 23-year old rookie driver explains he hopes to compete in those races in his car, or for another USAR owner. "I really want to run those five events. "I wouldn't mind climbing into another team's seat, but if that doesn't happen, we'll do everything in our power to have our Van Alst Motorsports team there.

Van Alst, a former Sunoco Super Series driver also announced this week that his Greg Van Alst.com website has added a message board for his fans to interact. "I'm very excited to have a message board on our site, it's easy for fans and myself to talk about the events and what's going on with the team. The login process is easy and fast, I'm looking forward to communicating with my fans on a regular basis."
