Show Up Points To Be Awarded For Pro Stocks at Utica-Rome Speedway For Upcoming Series Conflict
VERNON, NY- The Empire Sports Network Pro Stock Super DIRT Series makes a visit to the Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday August 22 and some of the competitors at the Utica-Rome Speedway have expressed their desire to compete in the series. To avoid a conflict near the end of the point season, Utica-Rome Speedway officials have decided to award 35 points to any competitor who competes at Utica-Rome Speedway or Cornwall Motor Speedway on that evening, regardless of finishing position.
In May, Utica-Rome Speedway used the same format when there was a conflict in a regular event at the speedway and a series event at Rolling Wheels Raceway. This will allow competitors to compete in the Super DIRT Series without losing ground in the point race at their home track. The 35 points will be added to any competitor who attempts to qualify at Utica-Rome Speedway or Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday August 22. In the event of rain at either speedway, the Pro Stock event will simply become a non-point event with no points awarded to any competitors.
