Naming rights sponsor locked in for TCR Australia

The category, which kicks off its first round at Sydney Motorsport Park today, will be backed by Australian automotive marketplace website carsales, with the official name set to be the carsales TCR Australia Series.

“Carsales is excited to be the series sponsor of the TCR Australia,” said Kellie Cordner, the brand's Chief Marketing Officer.

“There’s a real connection between the cars and brands that are set to race in carsales TCR Australia Series and those that consumers search for and buy on carsales.

“Aussies love performance cars and they love hot hatches – they’re affordable and fun to drive. We think TCR Australia has the potential to engage this audience in a way that to date hasn’t been tapped."

Carsales has been active in Aussie motorsport sponsorship before, having backed Todd Kelly's Nissan Supercar before he retired, as well as an ongoing personal deal with Daniel Ricciardo.

“It’s fantastic to have such a well-known Australian motoring brand like carsales associated with TCR Australia,” said ARG boss Matt Braid.

“Carsales is a key player in the Australian automotive sector, and given we have eight car brands represented in our inaugural series, carsales is the perfect fit for TCR Australia."
