Sun led the race from pole position and looked unchallenged throughout the eight-lapper, eventually taking the victory with a handsome margin of 5.686s.
Karminder Singh, who sealed the tile in Race 2 earlier this morning, took the runner-up spot after a charging drive from eighth on the grid.
Karminder rose to fifth on the first lap and overtook another couple of drivers to put himself in a podium position. On lap 4 he made contact with Donovan Vaz that led to the latter retire from the race. Karminder, however, was able to escape unscathed to take second.
“I have been chasing the title for four seasons but this time I had to put a lot of effort to gain the top spot," he said. "The wet tyres were spot on and it took time to work them but they helped me put good lap times.
"I now move to the open-wheel racing for the next season where my goal would be to take one race at a time and try to learn as much as I can during the initial rounds.”
Kolhapur's Dhruv Mohite rounded off the podium positions with another solid performance, while Sandeep Kumar held off Aditya Pawar for fourth.
Rookie champion Anmol Singh was next up in sixth, while Race 1 winner Saurav Bandyopadhyay had a fairly uneventful race en route to seventh place.
Jeet Jhabakh, Vaz and Race 2 podium finisher Affan Sadat Safwan Islam all retired from the race.
