Karminder Singh heads into the second round leading the championship from Anindith Reddy and returning Sailesh Bolisetti.

Bolisetti had raised the bar in the first weekend picking up pole and a win in the first race, returning to Indian racing after a gap of five long years.

But Singh's double podium and a win in the second race put him in the lead with Reddy behind by just four points.

The Junior cup has Sahil Gahuri and Raghav Sharma tied for the first place with Pratik Sonawane in at second.

The sister duo of Neha Dabas and Ria Dabas made their professional racing debut in the first round and didn't disappoint as they continue their learning process.

"I am very happy to see the close competition at the top of the championship table already after the first round of the season," said Sirish Vissa, Head of Volkswagen Motorsport India.

"This lays a good foundation for racing going into the second round of the season.

"Even the young, rookie drivers are adjusting quickly to the world of racing with such a steep learning curve," he added.

"Now that the drivers have got a good feel of the race cars over an entire competitive weekend, it will be interesting to see how far the drivers take their aggression at the Round 2 of the season," Vissa concluded.
