The 2015 season of the Vento Cup clubbed with the JK Tyre championship will see four rounds starting this weekend at the Kari Motor Speedway (KMS) at Coimbatore.

Round two will take place at KMS in September while the final two rounds will be held at the Buddh International Circuit in October and November respectively.

21 drivers (19 male and two female) from all across the country are set to compete for the coveted title. There are 14 new drivers while seven of them competed in the Polo R Cup last year.

The drivers had a three-day pre-season testing the last month where they got the first taste of the Vento Cup cars.

Rayomand Banajee was there to coach them during the testing where they were imparted lessons on racing lines, braking, cornering techniques, launch control techniques, flag rules and other vital aspects of racing for the competitive season that lies ahead.

Prior to the testing, they had two days of fitness camp in Bangalore which focussed on improving their physical and psychological fitness along with insights on the diet and exercise routines to see through the season.

The Head of Volkswagen Motorsport India, Sirish Vissa said: “With the introduction of Vento Cup, Volkswagen Motorsport India has already raised the bar with respect to the race machines that are being made available for the budding racers."

"We now expect to see the same levels of dedication and performances on the circuit from our selected drivers.

"By providing equal performance race cars to all, we expect the racers to showcase their driving skills and nerves on the track and leap ahead of the others," he concluded.
