Tomy Drissi, driver of the no. 5 Daredevil/Pyro Jaguar XKR, started 13th, ran as high as eighth, and finished tenth in today's Trans-Am race.

NOTE 1 - Drissi inked a last-minute sponsorship deal with a movie studio to promote an new movie, "Daredevil", to be released on 02/14/03. Drissi's front hood prominently displayed the movie's promotional poster featuring the lead character. Additional information about the upcoming film can be found at www.daredevilmovie.com.

NOTE 2 - BACKGROUND STATS...Finished third at Trois-Rivieres, his first podium finish since Mosport in 2000...Has five top-ten finishes in seven starts...In 2001, finished 11th in the points standings...Had five top-ten finishes and two "Fast Five" starts...In 2000, was voted "Most Improved Driver"...Won the "Rookie of the Year" title in 1999.

On his race today... "I had such a fast car today, but I got held up by several slower cars fairly early on in the race. I was racing Randy Ruhlman and passing for position when he spun. I certainly didn't mean for it to happen the way it happened. I was so much faster, went in, and then next thing I knew, he spun.

"Later on in the race, I kissed the wall twice, but on the third contact, it was substantial enough that we had to pit to change the right rear tire. One of those encounters came after the restart. I messed up on the restart and if I hadn't tagged the wall, I would have hit Bob Ruman.

"We were running eighth before I had to pit, and I thought it would end our chance for a top-ten finish. But we were able to gather it up and bring it home in 10th place."
